SDMCs construct school buildings, toilet, water supply and compound wall.
Community is involved the construction. Construction of BRCs has been given to
Zilla Panchayath Engineering Division, Karnataka Land Army Corporation (KLAC),
NIrmithi Kendra, PWD. |

Appointment of Consulting
Engineer has been finalised. One consultancy engineer per block and
one at district level are provided. Two consulting engineers and architects are
provided at State level. The consultants appointed for 3rd party
inspection have already started the inspection and review/action are being taken
based on the reports received from the field by the engineers. |

Planning : |

Planning process is decentralized. State level Core group for the
Planning purpose is constituted. State level workshops were conducted to
discuss various issues related to planning and to guide the district
level core group in preparation plans and consultation procedures
required to be followed. The block level officials are trained at
the district level. Draft plans are prepared at habitation level after
extensive discussion in open meeting with community members and SDMC
members and other village functionaries. The consolidation takes place at
cluster, block and at districts. The plans are discussed at the District
Implementation Committee (DIC) and finalised. In-house software to generate
the costing sheets is developed. The plans are further scrutinized at the SPO
level and sent to MHRD after necessary updations/modifications |
