Eligibility : |

|
[1] Candidates must be
citizens of India and should be Karnataka candidates for Government
seats. “Karnataka Candidate” means, a student who has studied for at
least Seven(7) full academic years in any one of the Government or
Government recognised institutions in Karnataka from first standard up
to 2nd P.U.C./ 12th standard or qualifying examination and passed either
S.S.L.C./ 10th standard or P.U.C. /12th standard examination in
Karnataka. In respect of candidates who have enrolled as private
candidates for S.S.L.C/P.U.C. or studied in open schools the period of
seven years study shall not be insisted. However such candidates shall
produce domicile certificate for 7 years from the Tahasildar of
concerned Taluk. |

|
Candidates who have passed either S.S.L.C. or P.U.C.
either in open schools or as private candidates shall produce the
relevant Marks card or a certificate from the Karnataka Secondary
Education Examination Board / Directorate of pre-university education
which shows that he/she is a private candidate. In respect of
candidates who have taken more than one year to pass a class
or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only
for this purpose. |

| A candidate being
son/daughter of an employee of the Union govt. or an employee of the
Union or Karnataka State government undertaking or joint sector
undertaking who is liable for transfer anywhere in India as per the
terms and conditions of his employment, has worked continuously for at
least one year in Karnataka as on 1st July of the year in which
admission is sought and such candidate has studied and passed the
qualifying examination from any govt. or government recognised educational
institution located in Karnataka |

| Son/daughter of working or
retired employee of the union government or employee of Union or
Karnataka State government undertaking or joint sector undertaking
where such employee: |
|
|
|
1. had
declared to the employer at the time of joining service any place in
Karnataka to be his home town; and
2. had
studied in any government or government recognised educational
institution or institutions located in Karnataka for not less than seven
years at any time between 1st Standard to 12th Standard or II
Pre-University examination
3. Was
or is liable for transfer any where in India as per the terms and
condition of his employment
4. Son/daughter
of Members of parliament elected from Karnataka
5. Son/daughter
of serving or retired employee.
6.
belonging to All India service of Karnataka cadre; and
7. of
the Karnataka State Government.
8. Who has
served or is serving outside the State of Karnataka during the period
corresponding to candidates study outside the State from 1st std. to
12th Std. Or II P.U.C. examination can be added to make up the seven
years study with in Karnataka as required under clause (m) of rule 2. |

| Candidates belonging to
Groups (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be considered as Karnataka
candidates. These candidates have to produce relevant certificates
obtained from competent authorities. |

Note:-
Son/daughter under the various clauses means not only natural borne
son/daughter but also son/daughter in legal terms, provided similar
entries are found in the records of study / legal papers are produced to
that effect. |

Candidates must
have passed 2nd P.U.C/12th Standard or equivalent examination and should
have studied any two of the following languages specified below either
in S.S.L.C/ 10th Standard or in II P.U.C. /12th Standard. |

English, Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Arabic, Tamil, Malayalam, Urdu,
Marathi, Sanskrit |

Excluding internal
assessment marks and class examination marks, all applicants shall have
a minimum of 50% of marks in II P.U.C. / 12th Standard or equivalent
examination. But S.C, S.T, C.1 and Physically handicapped candidates
shall have a minimum of 45% of marks in II P.U.C. / 12th Standard or
equivalent examination, excluding internal assessment marks and class
examination marks. |

Arts, Science and
Commerce Candidates should have studied minimum two electives of the
elective subjects specified below in Second PUC / 12th
Standard/equivalent examination. |

|
| History/ Civics, Economics,
Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Kannada, Education-1,
Education–2, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Zoology, Mathematics and
Statistics. |
